  New York Spaces, Inc. dba Ripley-Grier Studios Policy and Liability Agreement  
  All individual clients and/or an official representative of any group renting space from Ripley-Grier Studios must read and sign this policy. You are responsible for passing this information to all the members of your group. Ripley-Grier Studios is not responsible for any personal property brought to or left in the studios, or elsewhere in the building, including property stored temporarily or monthly. (Storage fees do not represent insurance against theft or damage, nor do they create a bailment).

Payment Policy
All payments will be paid before using the space, unless an invoice is being sent. All first time clients will be asked to pay cash. All new clients are required to hold the space with a credit card, & pay cash upon arrival. If the client does not pay upon arrival, the client's credit card that is on file will be charged the full amount.
  • All first time clients will be asked to pay cash.
  • When a client has established an account with us, payments may be made by check. No third party checks will be accepted. There is a charge of $15.00 for any checks returned for any reason.
  • We accept cash, money orders, major credit cards, bank cards, or certified checks. Personal and company checks are acceptable with approval of management.
  • Deposits, rental fees, and monthly payments must be paid by the dates stated on the invoices or receipts.
  • Late fees at the rate of 1.5% per month will be assessed on late payments.
  • Space will be reserved in advance using a credit card as security. If customer is a No Show or cancels late, card will be charged immediately.
Cancellation Policy : VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Space must be canceled on time pursuant to cancellation policy stated below in order to receive credit, deposit refunds, and to avoid being charged the full amount of the booking. If we are able to re-rent some of the space late canceled, we will return any deposits and/or not charge the client for the full amount (at the management’s sole discretion).

ALL CLIENTS WHO CANCEL MUST MAKE NOTE OF THE DATE, THE TIME, AND WITH WHOM THEY CANCELED IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT.
  • 24hrs or more is required for bookings of 1 - 2hrs.
  • 72hrs or more is required for bookings of 2.5 – 5.5hrs.
  • 7 days or more is required for bookings of 6hrs or more in one day.
  • 2 weeks cancellation is required for 5 - 6 day bookings (6 - 8 hrs per day), or if we have held the space for more than 6 weeks in advance.
  • 72hrs or more is required for all regular clients for whom we hold space for on a regular basis.
Procedure Policies
All clients should check in at the office desk unless otherwise directed. All persons entering the building must remain in compliance with established fire regulations and other regulations imposed by government bodies. Stairways must remain clear; all corridors must remain free of any extraneous materials, such as packs, suitcases, etc. Pianos must be treated as the expensive instruments that they are. No food, drinks, coats, bags, books, etc. are to be put on the pianos. Equipment rented from Ripley-Grier Studios must be returned to the front desk with all parts intact.
  • Studios must be vacated on time. Set-up, breakdown, cleanup, pack-up are all included in the reserved time. “All day” bookings must be prepared to vacate the studio 5 minutes before the last hour of the day. There will be an overtime fee assessed if you stay past your reserved time. You will be able to book extra time at a day (discounted) rate provided the space is not otherwise reserved.
  • Studios, dressing and waiting areas are to be left in a clean and neat condition. Trash must be placed in trashcans. Chairs and tables should be put away. Rooms should be checked for personal belongings. You will be held responsible for any loss or damage incurred.
  • Exact use of the space must be explained to the management. Amplification of music, drums and electrical equipment must be cleared with management when booking space.
  • Tap dancing is allowed on a limited basis and must be cleared with management.
  • The hallways are quiet areas and are not to be used for rehearsing.
  • No chairs or tables should be taken from the halls without management approval.
  • Management is not responsible for loss of personal property under any circumstances.
  • Management reserves right to reassign client to another studio of equal or greater size without prior notice.
Fine Print
In the event that Client breaches any of the terms of this Agreement, Ripley-Grier Studios, may, as provided by law, commence any legal action for collection of balance due. Ripley-Grier Studios may also pursue any other legal action deemed necessary or appropriate with respect to the account. The Client agrees to reimburse Ripley- Grier Studios, for all reasonable costs expended to collect past due balances, including, but not limited to their reasonable costs of collection, and attorney fees along with court costs, if applicable. In addition, Ripley-Grier Studios, may suspend services, refuse access, or may terminate this contract. On a fixed-rate Consent, Ripley-Grier Studios may demand payment, and Client agrees to pay Ripley-Grier Studios, for any losses that Ripley-Grier Studios may incur by nature of said cancellation prorating any loss of the entire unpaid balance of the contract volume due to Client’s default or cancellation.
